    4.1 and 5.3 Gallon Tanks Info
The new Acerbis 4.1 gallon gas tanks are finally in our hands!  There are 2 versions of this tank, 1 for KTM 250/350/450/500 XC-F/XCF-W/EXC models with fuel injection (EFI) that, with some small seat changes* (see fitment notes below) can also be used on 2013-14 Husaberg FE 250/350/450/501 and TE 250/300 models.

The other version is for carbureted bikes and will fit 2011-14 XC 250/300 2-strokes, 2012-14 250/300 XC-W models, and 2011-12 carbureted 450 SX-F models.  Both tanks are available in Natural (shown below) and Black.  The new 4.1 gallon tank and the previously available 5.3 gallon tank hold fuel in the shroud area, so stock radiator shrouds cannot be used.

*Husaberg 2013-14 fitment notes:  the 4.1 and 5.3 gallon tanks can be used on Husaberg 2013-14 with some changes to the front of your seat.  Husaberg seats are pointed at the front while the KTM seats are rounded at the front.  The 4.1 and 5.3 gallon tanks have a rounded recess (see picture below) that allows the KTM seat to fit into this pocket, allowing the front of the seat to sit flat.

To make a Husaberg seat into the recessed area, you will need to pull the staples holding the cover to the front edge of your seat, then trim the front of the plastic seat pan and foam as needed to allow the seat to drop into the recessed area.  Once you are satisfied with the fit, fold the cover over the front of the seat and staple into place. Please be aware that we have not cut up a seat to confirm that the Husaberg seat will engage with the plastic button in the top center of the tank.  If it does not engage fully, remove the button to allow the seat to sit flat on the tank.

Tank Warranty:  ACERBIS stands behind our products against manufacturers defects. In situations where a crash occurs, a solvent, liner or paint is applied, a product is improperly installed, or in a case of general neglect, ACERBIS is not liable and all warranties are void.

ACERBIS Fuel Tanks:
Paint that is added to the interior or exterior of any ACERBIS fuel tanks will in turn void any and all warranties. ACERBIS’ tanks are made from polyethylene, which is a porous material that allows fuel vapor to escape. The minimal vapor that vents through is normal and will not affect the performance of the tank.

Vinyl wraps and or Stickers will also impede the tanks ability to vent and should not be used. And can also vapor lock the vehicle. In most if not all cases, the wrap or sticker will bubble from the escaping fumes.

Internal coatings added to ACERBIS tanks are not recommended and should be avoided. ACERBIS tanks are perfectly functional and do not require the addition of internal coatings. Polyethylene can react negatively to a variety of chemicals so applying any second party products will void any and all warranties

If an ACERBIS tank is punctured in the event of a crash, ACERBIS is not liable for replacement.
