2016 FE 250* - The highly-tuned double overhead cam engine in the FE 250 is lightweight, compact and powerful, and with service intervals of up to 135 hours, it is also a champion of reliability. The agile chassis, featuring a high-tech WP 4CS fork and a versatile rear linkage suspension system, matched with premium standard equipment such as electric start and hydraulic clutch, make the FE 250 a top contender in the small displacement enduro category.
Engine  Closely related to the motocross engine, the FE 250's performance is tuned for enduro use, which means stronger mid-range power and torque via the use of specific cams, and a peak power output of 37hp. The compact engine also features a DDS clutch for more tractable power, ideal on typically rough enduro terrain. The FE 250's advanced DOHC cylinder head features DLC coated followers and flow optimised ports, and large 32.5mm intake valves that weigh only 19.6g each, while the 26.5mm exhaust valves weigh 18g.
New Lubrication System  The lubrication system on the FE 250 has been modified to prevent damage from bad maintenance operations such as over-filling the system with oil. The modification has the added advantage of improving lubrication in extreme terrain, such as on steep uphill or downhill trails.
Cylinder and Piston  The large 78mm bore cylinder features a König forged bridged-box-type piston (that weighs only 200g) and a short stroke to enhance revving and house large valves for better fuel flow. The compression ratio is 12.8:1.
Crankcase  The crankcases are produced using pressure die casting for thinner wall thicknesses and a higher quality surface finish than other casting methods. The bronze coating and Husqvarna logo on the side covers add to the stylish look.
Chromoly Steel Frame  High-strength steel of the highest quality is laser cut and robot welded to exacting standards by WP Performance Systems, according to precise torsional rigidity, longitudinal flex and weight defined by our R&D department. Finely-tuned torsional rigidity provides sharp handling and stability, while calculated longitudinal flex helps absorb impacts from the terrain, working together with the suspension for better comfort and greater feedback. The lightweight design allows riders to confidently pick faster lines while maintaining race-winning pace over extended periods of time.
Polyamide Rear Subframe  The lightweight, three-piece polyamide rear subframe is more flexible than a traditional aluminum rear subframe. Combined with the longitudinal flex of the frame and the rear linkage system, this gives riders a more comfortable and confidence-inspiring feeling on the bike, allowing them to push the limits in every condition and on any terrain. The design of the composite subframe features an integrated airbox and rear grab handles.
New Brembo Hydraulic Clutch  The FE 350 now features a new Brembo hydraulic clutch system . The high quality clutch system guarantees perfect modulation of the clutch in every condition. This means that the play is constantly compensated so that the pressure point and the function of the clutch remain identical in cold or hot conditions and over time. The Brembo clutch also features even wear characteristics and is nearly maintenance-free.
New Disc Brakes  New disc brakes by GFK at the front and rear, feature stronger braking power and increased control with a new design.
New Front End Geometry  Detail improvements and optimization on the MY16 enduro bikes are based on the updated front end where a new 22mm front axle with specific fork shoes replaces the previous 26mm axle. The new axle is lighter, and the shoes have shorter offset and increased trail, for more stability and better front-end feel.
New Triple Clamp Geometry  The CNC machined triple clamps on all the bikes now feature a 22mm offset. The resultant reduction in trail balances the increased trail due to the new front axle and fork shoes, for optimal balance between agility and stability. The triple clamps are made of high quality materials, precisely machined and anodized in deep black, and are designed to evenly distribute the clamping force on the fork leg, maximizing contact area for optimal sensitivity and minimum friction. Accurate flex has been designed into the triple clamps, perfectly complementing the fork, and transferring detailed information to the rider. Ergonomics play a major role in rider feeling and confidence, so the handlebar can be adjusted in 4 different positions to adapt to a wide variety of riders.
Revised 4CS Fork Setup  With the new offset on triple clamp and fork shoes, the 4CS setup has been revised to suit the new front-end geometry. Now in its 4th year of production, the 4CS fork has reached the perfect balance between performance, feeling and reliability. The four-chamber system on the 4CS fork has been developed to improve damping, handling, plushness and rider comfort, ideal characteristics for enduro. The clicker settings can be easily and quickly adjusted via the dials on the top of the fork tubes. The red dial on the right alters rebound damping, while the white dial on the left is for compression damping. WP suspension stands for top quality and offers the best performance levels. Precision engineering, quality materials and advanced production processes characterize the WP forks on the Husqvarna model range.
Rear Link and Revised Shock Setup  The high performance DCC (Dual Compression Control) rear shock made by WP has a revised setup and has been re-valved to match the geometry and setup changes on the front-end. The new setup features improved damping characteristics and balance. Now in its third year of development, the rear linkage on the Husqvarna enduros has proven itself as the optimal choice for all riding styles and levels of rider ability. The versatile system performs well on the widest variety of terrain, from tight and technical trails, to wide open, high-speed tracks. The high level of comfort guaranteed by our linkage system allows riders to tackle rough terrain with optimal feeling and traction in every condition.
DID Wheels  Black high-strength alloy rims by DID are matched to CNC machined hubs and silver anodized aluminum nipples, for reliable performance and modern looks.
New Seat Cover  The new seat cover is highly resistant and greatly improves grip compared to the previous material. The color is now a deep blue that integrates perfectly with the new color of the bodywork.
Fuel Tank  The 9.3 liter fuel tank on the FE 250 is between a half-liter and 3 liters larger than any competing manufacturer. The polyamide fuel tanks feature an easy opening bayonet-type filler cap and an integrated fuel pump.
New Colors and Graphics  The new colour tones of the MY16 enduros further evolve into dark blue pearl with bright yellow accents, with white front and rear fenders and headlight mask.
